An aerial search is underway after a Cessna 172 aircraft went missing in Quebec late Wednesday night.
The aircraft was heading from the Mirabel airport to Sherbrooke in the evening when it disappeared from radar about 37 kilometres away from its destination, according to a statement from National Defence.
There was one person on board.

The Canadian Armed Forces received a call about the missing aircraft around 1 a.m. on Thursday.
After a preliminary investigation, it dispatched a plan and helicopter from the military base in Trenton to Quebec. A second helicopter from Bagotville was also deployed.
A search-and-rescue team from Quebec and a Sûreté du Québec helicopter have also joined the search.
