RCMP find man wanted for 2 armed robberies at same store on Sask. First Nation

RCMP have arrested a man who was wanted for two armed robberies at the same convenience store on a First Nation in Saskatchewan.

The first robbery happened at 6:45 p.m. CT on March 4 when two suspects entered the Stop N Go on Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation armed with a shotgun and machete, according to a police report.

They fled the store with money and tobacco products. No injuries were reported.

As a result of an investigation, Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP identified Jarrett Poitras, 25, and Jere Pinacie,27, as suspects.

Mounties recently announced Poitras was wanted in relation to another armed robbery at the Stop N Go as well as a break-in at a home on Muscowpetung, which both occurred on July 23.

Relating to the July 23 incidents, Poitras is facing charges of robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, as well as break and enter and theft of a gun.

RCMP announced on July 26 that Poitras had been located. He is scheduled to appear in Regina provincial court on July 29.

Pinacie of Muskowekwan First Nation, is described as five-foot eight and about 120 pounds. She is known to frequent Regina, police said.

The Regina Police Service arrested a second suspect believed to be involved in the July 23 incidents on July 24. Twenty-one-year-old Michael Ethan Obey, of Regina, is facing the same charges as Poitras as well as driving while prohibited.

Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation is approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Regina.
