Pollsters, pundits, the media and many British Columbians were caught off guard last night by Liberal leader Christy Clark’s surprising win.
Voters also sent the province’s first Green representative to the Legislature and re-elected a single independent candidate in Delta South.
The BC Conservatives failed to win any seats as their vote completely collapsed.

Clark didn’t win her own seat in Vancouver-Point Grey, narrowly losing to the NDP’s David Eby. In order to sit in the Legislature, Clark will have to boot out another Liberal in a different riding and call a by-election.
