The B.C. Conservative Party violated the B.C. Elections Act Tuesday by robocalling residents of Langley, Elections BC confirmed to Global News.
Any type of campaign advertising on election day, including phonecalls, tweets and campaigning, violates B.C. Elections Act.
Spokesperson Don Main said Elections BC received complaints about the calls Tuesday morning.
“As a result of complaints that we received in Langley they B.C. Conservatives were asked to stop the robocalls. It’s not allowable, they were told to stop and they did,” Main said.
Main said there were no other parties that made robocalls Tuesday.
