Aggravated assault charge laid in West Kelowna car wash attack

A Kelowna man is facing a charge of aggravated assault after a targeted attack at a West Kelowna car wash on Tuesday.

Alberto Danny Rocuant, 33, was taken into custody later that same day in connection to the case. He has now been formally charged.

Police said a man was left seriously injured after he was the victim of a brutal assault in the 1200 block of Hudson Road, just after 3:30 a.m.

The victim was transported to hospital, where he continues to recover from serious injuries.

RCMP have not released the nature of those injuries or if a weapon was used in the attack.

Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Meghan Foster said, “the assault took place in the south parking lot of the Sonic Car Wash, where the vacuums are located.

“Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP.”
