Forensic vehicles, multiple Kingston police cars, the Kingston police traffic unit and city officials were seen near Megaffin Park on Friday morning due to a police investigation.
According to Ash Gutheinz, a woman was attacked earlier Friday morning at the park and police arrested a man who was found at the park.
Later that day, police realized the man they apprehended was himself attacked, and that the alleged attacker was still at large.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to Gutheinz.
The area on Montreal Street between James and Russell streets and down to Bagot Street was examined as part of the investigation.
The adjacent Cook Brothers Youth Centre was also been blocked off by police.
As of Monday, Kingston police say no arrests have been made.
