CALGARY – Officials with the Calgary Zoo say a recently born snow leopard cub has died.

The cub was born over the weekend, but a statement on the Calgary Zoo’s Facebook page says the animal wasn’t able to nurse and didn’t survive.

The zoo says the female snow leopard who gave birth to the cub is still considered genetically valuable to their breeding program.
