REGINA – The Saskatchewan government wants to know what can be done to make it easier for people with disabilities to get jobs or go to school.
The province is creating a team that will hold public consultations and develop a disabilities strategy.
The 12 to 15 member team will look at availability of housing, transportation, education and other ways people with disabilities can be supported.
For example, Social Services Minister June Draude says there needs to be more people with disabilities working in the public sector.
The public has until June 28 to nominate people for the team and those members will be named in this fall.
Draude says the team will then hold public consultations next spring and hopefully release the strategy in fall 2014.
