Nicole Ensing, Chair of the Mad Hatter Committee say there is typically not a venue for showcasing this type of art and they wanted to bring something different exhibition experience, “We wanted to kind of take away that stuffy gallery feel. We want people to touch the art and become engaged and so the artist is giving to the community and the community is supporting the artist.”

MaryAnn Lawrenchuk has been involved in the organizing of the event but also as an artist, “It’s a way for youth to get their art out there without having to go into the gallery context and a way for them to get their toe in the door.”
