The big talk in Day One centered around poor ice conditions. Our friends at Sask Curl have this update…

Ice conditions improved significantly Thursday after Jerry Spence and his crew made adjustments to deal with the fresh ice. The opening day on Wednesday was marred by soft, wet ice causing rocks to quickly die and some to "pick" which produced several lopsided scores.

As for the games…

In Thursday's "A" Semi Finals, Randy Bryden defeated Mark Herbert 6-4 while Darrell McKee beat the defending champion, Joel Jordison, 7-4. So that sets up an interesting Friday – Day Three of the SaskTel Tankard.
