KELOWNA, BC, — It was a busy day for the Kelowna Rockets at the WHL bantam draft in Calgary Thursday.

They drafted twelve players, including the son of a former NHL player and the brother of a current Rockets player.

With their first round pick, the Rockets selected skilled centre Dillon Dube.  Dube played last season with the Notre Dame Hounds, bantam AAA team.  He had 24 goals and 26 assists in only 26 games.  “He’s a tremendous skater and he’s going to be an exciting player to watch,” says Rockets director of scouting, Lorne Frey.

With its second round selection Kelowna picked Cal Foote, the son of former NHL player Foote.  Foote played minor hockey in Colorado and has been coached by his father.

In the 8th round Kelowna selected Conner Bowey, the younger brother of Rockets defenceman Madison Bowey.

The Rockets also made a trade with the Victoria Rebels, acquiring the rights to Kelowna native Brennan Clark.  Although he’s only 17 Clark has played two seasons with the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL.  In 48 games last season the 6-foot, 190 pound forward had 17 goals and 7 assists.
