Eight Calgary restaurants have been named on a list of the top eateries in Canada.
Charcut Roast House placed 5th on Vacay.ca’s 2013 list of the Top 50 restaurants in Canada, released on Monday.
The rankings are determined by the voting public, along with a panel of judges.
“From the house-made charcuturie to the bone marrow with escargot, every dish is delicious,” says Rebecca LeHeup of the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance.
Meanwhile, food blogger Julie Van Rosendaal says “the cuisine is innovative, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients.”
Calgary finished with eight restaurants in the Top 50, more than any other city except Toronto, which had ten.

Chef Connie DeSousa from Charcut was also named the Best Female Chef in Canada.
