An 86-year-old woman is dead after she was found in critical condition outside her seniors’ home on Ste-Julie street in Pointe-Aux-Trembles.
According to Montreal Police, Urgences-santé was called to Résidence Les Pléiades on Wednesday morning.
The woman was later pronounced dead.
Police were on the scene investigating to determine whether the incident was criminal or of the woman died of natural causes.
“It’s an unfortunate event,” said Claude Riendeau, a director with the province’s health board, CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. “We have asked for an internal investigation and we will wait for the results from the coroner’s report.”

Riendeau added that if there are any recommendations, they will be implemented in partnership with the owner.
According to Riendeau, the residence is a “very good” partner of the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.
The Quebec Coroner’s Office told Global News they couldn’t comment on the file.
