Stabbing near Kingston grocery store leaves man with serious injuries, police say

A man was sent to hospital early Wednesday morning after a stabbing near a Kingston grocery store, according to police.

Const. Ash Gutheinz says Kingston police are currently investigating a violent assault that happened near Princess and Division streets.

Gutheinz says the man made his way to the Metro at the corner of Barrie and Princess streets just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police were called, as were Frontenac paramedics and the man was taken to Kingston General Hospital with significant injuries. Gutheinz says the victim is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made at this time and Kingston police are still looking for the suspect.
