Hamilton police looking for suspect in connection with east end stabbing

A man is in hospital while another person is being sought by police after a stabbing in Hamilton’s east end.

Officers were called to Ellis Avenue, between Barton Street and Campbell Avenue, around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the victim was found with a stab wound to his chest near a roadway in front of Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton, although it didn’t happen at the club.

Hamilton Paramedic Superintendent David Thompson says a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say there is no suspect information at this time but confirmed they are looking for a person who fled the scene.
