Erin, a woman who lives just meters from where the crash happened, tells 980 CFPL she was watching a movie when she heard a loud bang.

“There was a bunch of commotion,” she said.

“The driver [of the Mini Cooper] was out, but the passenger wasn’t able to get out so they were talking to that person and making sure they were okay. I think she was conscious… they eventually took her out of the driver’s side.”

On Friday afternoon, police reported that the injuries are serious and that the male driver is in good condition while the female passenger is in fair condition.

Police also say the male driver of the SUV was located a short distance from the scene.

A London man, 32, faces impaired driving charges in the case.

The vehicles were removed from the scene around 6:30 a.m. and the roadway reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
