Prince Albert police catch alleged thief going through vehicles

Police are reminding people to ensure their vehicles are secure after a thief was caught red-handed in Prince Albert, Sask.

A person was reported going through parked vehicles in the 1300-block of 4th Street East at 3 a.m. on March 19.

Officers quickly arrested a 22-year-old Prince Albert man.

Police said he was in possession of stolen property obtained from several vehicles.

The accused is expected to appear in provincial court March 19 on a charge of possession of stolen property.

He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching a conditional sentence order.

Prince Albert police are reminding people to keep their property safe with temperatures warming by taking the following precautions:

  • have a nightly routine to make sure vehicle doors are locked;
  • do not leave valuables in vehicles or in plain sight;
  • do not leave personal or bank information in vehicles; and
  • report suspicious activity by contacting Prince Albert police at 306-953-4222.
