John Winston will step down as general manager of Tourism London this summer after 18 years in that job.
“It has been both a privilege and great fortune to serve Tourism London,” Winston writes in a letter to the board.
He says the decision follows much reflection and deliberation with his wife, family, and close friends, adding that he believes it’s time for “a renewal of both leadership and strategic direction.”

Winston’s last day will be July 4 and with his resignation officially taking effect after vacation entitlements are realized.
The announcement comes a day after London hosted the Juno Awards at Budweiser Gardens, the largest tourism event ever held in the city.
