London police search for suspect in knifepoint robbery investigation

London police say they’re searching for a suspect in connection with an alleged knifepoint robbery.

It was around 2 a.m. Wednesday when a male victim was walking east on the north side of Dundas Street, east of Wellington Street in the downtown core.

Officers say the suspect asked the victim if he had any spare change. As he moved towards the suspect to give him some, police allege that’s when the suspect pulled a knife on him and demanded he empty his pockets.

According to police, the suspect left the area with the victim’s belongings and cash, heading west.

Officers say the victim wasn’t hurt.

Investigators have described the suspect as a white man, between 20 and 30 years old. He had a slim build, was about 5’10” and 180 lbs. His hair was black and grey and he had a full beard.

Police say he was wearing a black puffy jacket, dark blue jeans and a black toque.
