Mississauga man faces 100 charges in Toronto gun and gang investigation

A 50-year-old man faces 100 firearms and drug related charges in connection to a gun and gang investigation, Toronto police say.

Police said their investigation began late last year and resulted in the arrest of Hewan Wilson on Feb. 24.

Authorities said the accused was apprehended while inside a 2018 Toyota Highlander. Officers managed to seize a quantity of heroin and firearms in the vehicle.

Police said a search warrant was executed at a home on Sherobee Road in Mississauga where further firearms were seized.

Investigators said in total, four kilograms of heroin — with a street value of $400,000, were seized.

Authorities were also a confiscated seven handguns, three shotguns, six rifles, half an ounce of cocaine and two over-capacity magazines.

Police said they haven’t linked the accused to organized crime, however the investigation is ongoing.
