Hamilton police say an expired validation sticker has led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police stopped a silver Dodge Caravan in the Melvin and Adeline avenues area.
Police say the driver produced a licence and then tried to drive away, only to realize it was a dead-end street and took off on foot.
According to police, officers chased the suspect and saw him discard a red bag behind a garage, which allegedly contained a black pellet gun, crystal meth, blue heroin, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
A short time later, the man was arrested.
Police say the licence he handed them did not belong to the suspect, who was determined to be driving while under suspension and was bound by a probation order.
A 37-year-old man is now facing several charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, and flight from police.
