Snowy conditions prompt special weather statement for London area

A snowy day across southern Ontario has led to a special weather statement from Environment Canada for London and the surrounding region.

The advisory applies to the Forest City, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komoka and Middlesex County, and most of the southwestern part of the province.

Forecasters report the London region will see consistent snowfall through the day on Wednesday totalling about 10 cm by the time the system leaves the area late in the afternoon or early in the evening.

Officials with the national weather agency said the snowfall may intensify Wednesday afternoon, leading to the potential for poor driving conditions.
