Autopsy to be performed on body found in Riverview, NB

RIVERVIEW, NB — The autopsy will be performed on Monday on the body found in Riverview this past weekend.

The body, found by hikers early Saturday afternoon in a wooded area just off Gunningsville Boulevard, was badly decomposed.

The RCMP said that’s made it difficult to identify the gender of the body, let alone the identity of the person.

“There has been a spreading of the remains due to wildlife and we are trying to collect as much as we can and also if there’s other evidence around there we’d like to locate it,” said Cst. Damien Thériault with the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Because of the state of the body, RCMP said they have ruled out any recent missing people.

The RCMP are hoping to have more answers after the autopsy.
