Officers set up a containment around a home on the street, located between Victoria and Barber avenues. Three nearby schools were also placed in a hold and secure.

Around 5:15 p.m., police said a wanted male had been taken into custody without incident. They were expected in court on Saturday for a bail hearing.

Though Main Street had reopened, police said officers would remain in the area while the investigation continued.

“The OPP wishes to thank the public for their assistance and patience during this incident,” police said in a statement.
