Man charged in Dartmouth stabbing and robbery: Halifax police

Halifax police say an 18-year-old man has been charged, following a stabbing in Dartmouth early Thursday.

Officers found an injured man on the sidewalk at 1:16 a.m. in the 100-block of Pinecrest Drive.

Police say the 31-year-old victim was stabbed during a robbery. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance and is being treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to arrest a suspect in the area.

Kyle Steven Shand of Dartmouth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth court Thursday to faces charges of robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
