SHAWINIGAN, Que. – Pier-Olivier Lacombe scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the second period and Etienne Verrette had two power-play goals to lift the Quebec Remparts to a 7-3 victory over the Shawinigan Cataractes on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Sam Dunn, Brandon Frattaroli, Samuel Dickner and Aleksei Sergeev also scored for Quebec (23-22-12) and Matthew Grouchy had three assists.

Mavrik Bourque, Jan Drozg and Gabriel Belley-Pelletier supplied the offence for the Cataractes (14-39-4).

Kyle Jessiman started in net for the Remparts, allowing three goals on 18 shots through 51:33. Kevyn Brassard stopped all four shots he faced the rest of the way.

Shawinigan’s Antoine Coulombe and Justin Blanchette combined on 28 saves. Coulombe, the starter, allowed three goals while Blanchette gave up four.

Dylan Schives of the Remparts and Shawinigan’s Jeremy Manseau received game misconducts late in the third for fighting in the final five minutes of regulation.

GATINEAU, Que. — Giordano Finoro had a goal and an assist to lead the Olympiques over Cape Breton.

Darien Kielb, Metis Roelens and Charles-Antoine Roy also scored for Gatineau (21-31-5).

Mitchell Balmas had the lone goal for the Screaming Eagles (33-19-5).
