The shooting death of a man in Laval, north of the island of Montreal, has been transferred to Quebec provincial police.
“This case could have a link with organized crime,” Sûreté du Québec (SQ) Sgt. Claude Denis told Global News.
He could not elaborate on what that could mean.
“The investigation is not finished, it’s a young investigation,” he said, adding that they did not know if the victim had been identified.
It happened just after 4 a.m. Monday morning.
Laval police officers found the man, in his 30s, in the parking lot of an apartment building on Havre des Îles Avenue in the district of Chomedy.
He was taken to hospital in serious condition but later died of his wounds.
