Guelph police say a newly-formed unit that specifically deals with property crime has made two arrests and seized a number of items reported stolen.
The Break and Enter and Auto Theft Team (BEAT Team) executed a search warrant on Saturday on Waterloo Avenue.
Police said officers found a large amount of stolen property including tools, copper wire, electrical switches, electronics, sunglasses, sports equipment, credit cards and identity documents.
Police also seized break-in instruments including pry bars, bolt cutters, walkie-talkies, flashlights and wire cutters.
Crack cocaine and crystal meth were found as well, according to police.
A 25-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, both from Guelph, were arrested and face a number of charges.
Police said the BEAT Team was formed in January and has already led to 31 charges being laid.
