Fifteen-year-old Marco Kacic raced across the finish line first at his debut Formula 4 race.
The Auto Club Speedway race track in Fontana, Calif., hosted the Formula Pro USA F4 Winter series race.
Despite heavy rain for the qualifier, the West Kelowna teen finished with the second fastest time.
In the final race, Kucic stretched out into the lead, winning by more than 27 seconds.

“I’m very happy that I was able to take the win,” Kacic said in a news release. “The goal was to have a successful debut for the team, as well as myself, and I’m so happy we did that.”
Formula 4 is a racing car category for junior drivers.
