Toronto police are looking for a woman from a video making the rounds online that appears to show her throwing a chair off a condo balcony dangerously close to the Gardiner Expressway.
Police said the incident allegedly occurred on Saturday at around 10 a.m in the Harbour and York streets area.
The 10-second video appears to show a woman dressed in black pants, a black leather coat and black high heels tossing the chair over the balcony which is several stories high.
He said the woman allegedly threw other objects off the balcony, as well, including a second chair.
The original chair doesn’t appear to hit any vehicles or injure anyone, but the video stops before it lands.
However, police said the objects landed in front of the entrance to the condo building.
“If anybody had been walking underneath or entering the condo, the injuries from this would have been very serious,” Hopkinson said.
Stephen Hucal, who lives in the area, told Global News after being shown the video that he’d never seen anything like it.
“Holy crap – what do they think it’s funny?” Hucal said. “It’s one of those heinous activities that you do, like you think it’s a joke and then all of a sudden you’re going to throw a chair that’s going to land on somebody’s windshield … I just think it’s terribly irresponsible.”
“I think that’s a very punishable crime.”
The woman is described as being in her 20s, 5-foot-2, 110 lbs., with a slim build and long blond hair.
