Man seriously injured after high-rise fire in Scarborough

Toronto police say one man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a fire in a high-rise building in Scarborough.

Emergency crews responded to the call at around 3:44 p.m. on Monday for a two-alarm fire at Bellamy Road and Adanac Drive, just east of the Eglinton GO station.

Officers said fire crews entered a unit in the residential building and was able to rescue the victim.

Investigators said the man was reported to be conscious and breathing during the rescue.

The fire has since been knocked down.
