Highway 1 westbound outside of Abbotsford has now re-opened at Whatcom Interchange, following an earlier multi-car pile up that sent two people to hospital in stable condition.

Abbotsford police said the city’s emergency services had been assisting RCMP with the crash near Whatcom Road, and warned drivers in the area to expect heavy congestion.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) said seven ambulances were deployed, and two people were taken to hospital in stable condition.
The crash took place amid snowy conditions that appear to have hit the Fraser Valley particularly hard.
DriveBC has warned drivers of “limited visibility with blowing snow” in the crash area.
