Quebec provincial police are looking for the driver of a dark-coloured SUV who allegedly struck a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident in Île-Perrot on Tuesday evening.
The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of 25th Avenue and Perrot Boulevard.
Police said the SUV, travelling east on Boulevard Perrot, struck the man as he crossed, throwing him several metres. Police said the driver didn’t stop and kept heading south along 25th Avenue.
Luckily, the pedestrian wasn’t seriously injured.
According to provincial police spokesperson Sgt. Daniel Thibodeau, the driver could possibly face two charges.
“A person’s responsibility, if you do hit something or someone, is to stop and give assistance to the person that’s injured and make sure they are OK,” he explained. “Secondly, it is to report it to the authorities. “In this case, neither one was done.”

Now, officers are seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of a vehicle similar to a Jeep Patriot.
Police said though it was snowing, visibility was not likely a factor.
