Hamilton-area closures and cancellations for Monday, Jan 28, 2019

Monday’s storm has forced a couple of closures and cancellations in Hamilton.

Closures

• McMaster University will close at 5 p.m.
• Mohawk College closed at 4 p.m. All Continuing Education classes and events for Monday are also cancelled.
• Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board schools and offices will close at 6 p.m. Program cancellations include athletics and clubs, St. Charles International Languages, Junior Vocal Festival rehearsal, and community use of school rentals.
• The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board will close all schools and administrative buildings at 6 p.m. All athletic programming, adult education classes, community users and partners with rental permits, as well as meetings, including the Board Meeting at the Education Centre, have been cancelled. Schools operating child care and after-school care will not close until each child is picked up. Caretakers will wait for all children in child care to be picked up as we recognize that some parents or guardians may be late today with the snow that is expected.
• All Hamilton Public Library branches will close at 7 p.m.
• Go Transit has cancelled the Route 16 Hamilton to Toronto buses along the QEW until further notice due to the snow.
• Neighbour to Neighbour Centre (both Hamilton locations) are closed.
• The John Howard Society of Hamilton-Burlington is closing at 5 p.m.
• All CYO volleyball and basketball games slated for Monday night have been cancelled.
• Ancaster Community Services has cancelled all programs, including Meals on Wheels for Tuesday.
