A vigil for the victims of the fatal double-decker bus crash at Westboro station in Ottawa on Jan. 11 will be held at the Eva James Memorial Community Centre in Kanata on Friday evening.
The candlelit tribute will begin outdoors at 7 p.m. on Friday, at 65 Stonehaven Dr., the Bridlewood Community Association says.
Three people died and 23 others were injured when an express bus on Route 269 headed toward Ottawa’s west end crashed into the overhang of a shelter at the Westboro station on the Transitway.
The three individuals killed — 56-year-old Bruce Thomlinson, 57-year-old Judy Booth, and 65-year-old Anja Van Beek — were all public servants.
The possible causes of the crash remain under investigation by the Ottawa Police Service, with assistance from the Transportation Safety Board.
In the wake of the crash, the City of Ottawa made a book of condolences available for Ottawa residents to sign.
The book will be available at the Eva James Memorial Community Centre until end-of-day Sunday, Jan. 27.
