Fishermen dump company crabs into harbour during NL crab-price protest

HICKMAN’S HARBOUR, N.L. – Police are investigating a bizarre incident at a crab processing plant in eastern Newfoundland.

RCMP say angry fishermen entered the Golden Shell Fisheries plant in Hickman’s Harbour yesterday and proceeded to dump all of its crab into the harbour.

The RCMP say the fishermen were protesting the fact that the plant owners had yet to settle on a price for the crab.

The Mounties say about 150 fishermen blocked workers from entering the plant.

No arrests were made.
