Calgary man charged with murder of his father in domestic homicide

A Calgary man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his father after a man’s body was found in a home in the northwest community of Edgemont on Wednesday.

Calgary police said officers were called at about 2:15 p.m. to a home on Edgepark Way N.W. where they found Shu Kwan Fong dead inside, Global News has learned.

Vincent Fong, 36, of Calgary has been charged in connection with the death, police said Thursday.

“Based on current investigative details, this case is believed to be domestic in nature,” police said, adding there is no concern for public safety.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
