Editor’s Note: This story was updated when the closure on River Valley Road and the shared-use path under Groat Road Bridge ended on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
As part of the massive renovation on Edmonton’s Groat Road Bridge, the bridge will be closed overnight until Jan. 31 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
During the overnight closures, the city said Groat Road southbound will be closed at 107 Avenue, westbound Victoria Park Road will be directed to northbound Groat Road. Northbound Groat Road will be closed at Emily Murphy Park Road. River Valley Road will be closed at Groat Road. The sidewalk on the bridge will remain open.
The good news though: River Valley Road under the bridge has reopened during the day, after being completely closed to traffic from Jan. 3. to Jan. 30.
This part of the construction project was expected to be complete by Saturday, Feb. 2, the city said, but the road re-opened Wednesday morning.
