PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Police are asking for public assistance after an unprovoked machete attack in Prince Albert on Saturday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., P.A. police responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of 9th Street East.
Police located a 25-year-old Prince Albert man suffering from a laceration to his knee.

The victim said his assailant randomly withdrew a concealed machete-type weapon and swung it at his knee in a hallway. The suspect then fled the complex.
P.A. police say the weapon is approximately 14” long and was carried in a sheath concealed in the suspect’s sleeve.
The victim was treated and released from Victoria Hospital.
A canine unit searched the area but was unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as an aboriginal male who is 5’9”to 5’10”, 200 lbs with a husky build and slim-looking face. He has shaggy black hair with curls in the back and was wearing a white sweater with black pants.
