Three people taken to hospital after Regina house fire

WATCH: A family is now homeless after a devastating fire tore through their home Tuesday afternoon just one week before Christmas. Katelyn Wilson reports – Dec 18, 2018

A house fire on the 4700 block of 4th Avenue in Regina sent one adult and two children to hospital Tuesday (Dec. 18) afternoon.

Crews were called to the area just after noon. It took firefighters well over an hour to fight the fire and they remained on scene throughout the day putting out hot spots.

One man was taken to hospital with burns to his hands and heavy smoke inhalation while two kids were also taken to hospital as a precaution.

One neighbour said he saw smoke from his window and when he got outside, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

“When I got to the house the flames were coming out of those two windows and they were about 15 feet going hard,” Jeremy Brittin said.

Officials say there is extensive damage to the home and it’s not yet known what caused the blaze.

Fire investigators will try to determine what caused the fire later this week.
