SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Authorities have released audio of a 911 call from a California couple tied up by fugitive ex-police officer Christopher Dorner, who would die during a shootout with deputies hours later.
After an Associated Press public records request, San Bernardino County released a recording of the Feb. 12 call made by Karen and Jim Reynolds from their mountain condominium. Dorner had left the couple bound, but Karen Reynolds was able to get to her phone and dial 911.

On the call, Karen Reynolds says “we were tied up by Dorner,” who had left just minutes earlier, and emphasizes that “we’re still tied up.”
The call provided the first verified sighting in five days during the massive manhunt for Dorner, who authorities say killed four people before shooting himself during the shootout.
