Global Calgary story wins prestigious award

A story that aired on Global Calgary last year has been recognized as the best sports story in the prairie provinces in 2012 by the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

“Mystery Skates” tells the story of 40 hockey players in Chestermere who are hoping to break the Guinness record for the world’s longest hockey game, when the arrival of a special pair of skates gives the battered and bruised players new impetus.
