A torrential downpour on Sunday night turned Vancouver streets into lakes and kept city crews busy throughout the night.
Environment Canada says up to 25 millimetres fell over a couple of hours.
The city responded to 128 calls, 49 of which were for property damage including water entering homes and underground parkades.
Video sent to the CKNW newsroom shows cars submerged, and neighbours taking it upon themselves to unclog drains covered in leaves.

Global BC anchor Sophie Lui found out that things got so bad in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood, a couple spent an hour using anything they could, including hockey sticks, to unclog six drains.
“Were you just walking by?” Lui asked.
“No we were in the hot tub. We drove here and saw flooding in Kits and everywhere, and someone came out and was like, ‘It’s totally flooded six feet under the bridge’ and we were like, ‘Let’s go get the sticks.'”
Other areas in Vancouver that saw flooding included the Olympic Village, Great Northern Way, and West 2nd Avenue and Columbia St., along with parts of Richmond.
The city says it spends over $1 million per year picking up leaves and could easily double that.
Residents are being reminded not to blow leaves onto the streets, especially since there is more heavy rain in the forecast.
