Kingston police say they arrested a man in relation to a robbery of a Princess Street bank on Tuesday.
The Scotiabank at 863 Princess St. was robbed just after 1 p.m. on Oct. 9. After releasing security images from the robbery, police say they were able to locate the man in the photos and arrest him that same day.
On Tuesday, police say a lone male entered the Princess Street bank and demanded cash. According to police, no weapon was used or seen but there was apparently a threat of violence reported to police.
The man handed the teller a note demanding cash, police say. He then exited the bank at 1:07 p.m., heading north through the parking lot, and was last seen heading east on Concession Street.
According to Det. Joel Fisher, a man was arrested Tuesday evening around 6:30 p.m. in a public area north of the city.

That man is 37-year-old Kevin Penzes, who is facing one count of robbery and one count of breaching his probation, according to Sgt. Det. Jay Finn.
Penzes was already under a three-year probation for a previously committed robbery.
Finn said after releasing Penzes’ images to the public police received information about several addresses, which led them to Kingston Mills locks where the Penzes was arrested around 6:25 p.m. Finn said police believed Penzes was likely to commit another robbery since he had allegedly robbed the Scotiabank without disguising his face, what Finn called “an act of desperation.”
Penzes will appear in a Kingston bail court Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
