North Vancouver RCMP are hoping someone will recognize a man suspected of stealing from a new mother at a maternity ward at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver.
It happened on Monday afternoon when the woman left her room to feed her new born baby.
When she returned to the room, she discovered her wallet was gone from an unsecured drawer.

The wallet was eventually recovered by hospital staff in a garbage can down the hall, but $300 worth of cash was missing.
“This is truly a heartless crime, made all the more disturbing because it targets a new mom caring for her child,” said Wendy Hansson, Chief Operating Officer, LionsGateHospital, Vancouver Coastal Health. “We place the safety and security of our patients above all else, and we are working closely with the North Vancouver RCMP to help them solve this crime.”
The suspect was captured on a hospital security camera and police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
