MONTREAL – This week, China is celebrating Qingming Festival, known as Ancestor’s Day, when families pay tribute to their loved ones who have passed away.
In Montreal, the mother, father and sister of murdered Concordia student Jun Lin are celebrating his life by speaking to the media about Lin’s dreams and the kind of person he was.
In an interview with Global News on Tuesday, his parents said they don’t want their son to be a footnote in Luka Magnotta’s case.
That’s why they released this series of family photos, so the public could remember him for his smile and deep love for Canada.
On Thursday, Lin’s family will gather at Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges cemetery and hold a private ceremony where they’ll burn fake money bills at his grave site, a symbolic gift for the departed.
