Environment Canada has placed a large portion of Nova Scotia under a severe thunderstorm watch.
The federal agency says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that can be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
They’re warning Nova Scotians about the possibility of flash floods and fast-moving water due to the potential storm.

A cold front is moving across the province and Environment Canada says the threat of a severe storm will pass as the cold front moves across Nova Scotia.
Cape Breton should be in the clear later this afternoon while mainland Nova Scotia will have to wait until the early evening, Environment Canada says.
