Fatal collision that shut down section of N.S. Highway 103 now under investigation: RCMP

RCMP are investigating after one person died as the result of a collision along Nova Scotia’s Highway 103.

Nova Scotia RCMP say the two-vehicle crash happened at 4:15 p.m., on Wednesday at the intersection with El Lake Road in Belleville, N.S.

Police say the occupant of a 2012 Honda Civic, a 67-year-old woman from Middle West Pubnico, N.S., was transported by ambulance to Yarmouth Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Civic, a 68-year-old man from Middle West Pubnico was transported by EHS to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, a 45-year-old man from Meteghan River, N.S., was transported by ambulance to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger in the Silverado, a 41-year-old woman from Meteghan River, was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

Highway 103 from Exit 33 at Tusket, which is northwest of accident, and Argyle Head Road was closed for several hours.

An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene to collect evidence and police say the investigation is ongoing.
