Motorcycle clocks near 200 km/h on 401 near Ingersoll: OPP

Oxford County OPP say a motorcycle was caught travelling westbound in excess of 190 km/h on Highway 401 near Ingersoll on Thursday.

Police say an officer observed the motorcycle around 2:50 p.m. while conducting RADAR enforcement in coordination with OPP aviation services. According to police, the motorcycle was travelling well above the highway’s posted speed limit of 100 km/h.

Officers say they caught up with the motorcycle during a traffic stop on Ingersoll Street South.

Herbert Runstedler, 26, of Brussels, Ont., has been charged with stunt driving, excessive speed and failing to have insurance.

Police add that Runstedler’s license has been suspended and that the motorcycle will be impounded for seven days.
