Bootlegging operation busted in northern Saskatchewan

Patuanak RCMP have busted what they call a well-known northern Saskatchewan bootlegging operation.

Two men were arrested on Wednesday who police believe were running the bootlegging operation in the Patuanak area.

Police said the men, who have not been named, were found transporting roughly $1,200 of liquor.

They are facing a number of bootlegging liquor offences and will appear in English River provincial court on Sept. 25.

English River First Nation, which is roughly 500 kilometres north of Saskatoon, is a dry community.
